Student-Athletes Named to NECC Fall Academic All Conference Team
Nashua – The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) has announced that
16 Daniel Webster College student-athletes have been named to the
inaugural Fall Academic All Conference Team.
To be eligible for academic all-conference accolades, a student-athlete
must post a minimum grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and
must be a junior or higher in class standings. Student-athletes who
competed in men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey, golf, men’s
and women’s soccer, women’s tennis and women’s volleyball were eligible
for the fall NECC Academic All-Conference.
“We are all extremely proud of our student-athletes’ accomplishments,”
said Phil Rowe, Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs for
Athletics. “Balancing academic excellence with athletic excellence is
something we take great pride in at Daniel Webster College and these 16
student-athletes are outstanding examples of the very best Daniel
Webster College has to offer.”
The 16 Eagle student-athletes accounted for a full 22-percent of the 71
total student-athletes honored by the conference, comprised of nine
colleges and universities from throughout New England. Further, the
Eagles tied with Elms College for the highest number of student-athletes
honored.
Eagles honored included women’s soccer athletes Erin Hurd (Centerville,
Mass.), Rachel Schelhorn (Lebanon, Conn.), Regina Wood (Westbrook,
Maine) and Jenny Ozug (Westport, Mass.); men’s golf athletes David
Jamieson (Buzzards Bay, Mass.) and Michael Adams (Frankfort, Maine);
field hockey athlete Christal Fitzgerald (Sydney, Australia); women’s
volleyball athletes Kayleigh Brown (Belmont, N.H.), Jessica Booth
(Westminster, Mass.), Kristina Rieger (Concord, N.H.) and Chelsea Graf
(Danbury, N.H.); men’s cross country athletes Kevin Horton (Kingston,
Mass.), Josh Drazen (Hudson, N.H.) and Cullen Larkin (Bedford, N.H.);
and Joanna Brinkerhoff (Ghent, N.Y.), and
Chelsea Graf.
Graf was the only student-athlete honored for participating in two
sports.
