Currier Steps Down As Head Men's Basketball Coach
Nashua, N.H. -- The Daniel Webster College
Department of Athletics today announced the resignation of head men’s
basketball coach Jeremy Currier.
Currier, who has been with the program for two seasons, has been named the
Associate Head Coach at NCAA Division II member Pfeiffer University in
Misenheimer, N.C.
“I congratulate Jeremy on his new appointment,” said Phil Rowe, Daniel
Webster College Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs for Athletics.
“Jeremy’s tireless efforts and dedication to the program have laid the
groundwork for continued growth and success; we wish him all the best in his
new endeavor.”
Currier was appointed head coach February 22, 2007 after serving one season
as assistant coach under Eddie Quick.
Over the past two seasons, Currier was part of the rebuilding of the program
from the inside-out, establishing new recruiting procedures, enhancing
community relations, and infusing the program with youth and enthusiasm.
Further, the Eagles played their first-ever NCAA Division I regular season
contest in the College’s history when the Eagles visited Dartmouth College
in December 2007.
The Eagles posted records of 6-18 in 2007 and 7-19 in 2008 resulting in
back-to-back appearances in the conference post-season championship
tournament.
