DeSeignora Honored With Honan Sportsmanship Award

Nashua, N.H. -- The Daniel Webster College Department of Athletics today announced that senior women’s basketball player Briana DeSeignora of Medfield, Mass. was recently chosen as the recipient of the 2008 Massachusetts State Representative Kevin G. Honan Sportsmanship Award.

The award, which is sponsored by Johnson & Papakyrikos CPA and Financial Planners of Boston, Mass., honors a student-athlete who demonstrates one or more of the ideals of sportsmanship, including fairness, civility, honesty, unselfishness, respect and responsibility. The recipient is chosen by officials from the Honan Women’s Basketball League based in the Brighton, Mass. area.

“We are extremely proud of Briana’s honor,” said Eagles women’s basketball coach Heather Jacobs. “The Honan League is a showcase for some of the very best collegiate women’s basketball during the summer months and Briana’s selection for this award is a great tribute to her character. She is an outstanding role model among her peers.”

DeSeignora is a three-year letter winner with the Eagles program who averaged 7.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game last season.

The Honan League celebrates its 21st season in 2008 with 28 teams and 300 participants.
