Speed Nets NECC Rookie Of The Week Honors
Nashua - Daniel Webster College men’s basketball
player Keith Speed of Columbus, Ohio (Reynoldsburg HS) has has been named
Rookie of the Week by the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC).
Speed, a freshman guard, averaged 15.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and
1.0 steals in two games this past weekend at the AMI/Rivier College tip off
in Nashua.
Speed notched 16 points on 5-for-7 shooting from the field including two
three-pointers, went 4-for-4 at the line and added two rebounds in a 71-68
loss to Colby Sawyer College on Friday, November 20th. He followed with 15
points (6-11 fg), hit two more three-pointers, and added three rebounds,
three assists and two steals in a 72-71 victory over Anna Maria College the
following afternoon.
Through four games, Speed is averaging 10.0 points per game along with 2.5
rebounds off the bench.
Under the guidance of head coach Dave Faucher, the Eagles are 3-1 overall
and return to action on Thursday, December 3rd when they visit Emerson
College in a New England regional matchup beginning at 7:00 p.m.
