Eagles Trounce Castleton In ACHA Home Opener, 12-2
Nashua - The brotherly duo of sophomore Shawn and senior Jay Glidden
(West Bridgewater, Mass.) combined for six goals and two assists leading the
Daniel Webster College ice hockey team past Castleton College, 12-2 in the
Eagles ACHA home opener Saturday night at Conway Arena.
Shawn Glidden erupted for four strikes while Jay Glidden added two as the
Eagles evened their overall record at 1-1.
Paul Trudel (Windham, N.H.) added two goals and two assists, Corey Sabaitis
(Trenton, Mich.) notched two goals, Mike Hauch (Oldsmar, Fla.) scored once
and set up four others and Ian Catenzaro (Londonderry, N.H.) scored once and
added an assist.
Rilye Proulx (Manchester, N.H.) and Colby Field (Hollis, N.H.) finished with
three assists each.
Eric Burgess (Nashua, N.H.) gave up one goal in two periods of play while
Chris Cloutier (Ashburn, Va.) allowed one in one period of relief.
The Eagles, who outshot the Spartans 62-33, led 2-1 after one period and
struck five times in the second to lead 7-1 after two.
The Eagles are off until Saturday, October 24th when they host Tufts in
their NECHA Colonial Conference opener at 8:00 p.m.
