Eagles Fall In A Tight One To Mount Ida, 1-0
Nashua, N.H - Adam Jensen (Boston, Mass.) broke a scoreless tie converting a
Jean Demorcy (Jersey City, N.J.) cross pass 34 seconds into the second half
and Brian Leighton (Turner, Maine) made four saves to record the shutout
leading Mount Ida to a tight, 1-0 victory over host Daniel Webster Saturday
in the GNAC men’s soccer opener for both clubs.
Jensen directed Demorcy’s pass from 10 yards out, clipping the far left post
just past Eagle goalkeeper Craig Van Tuyl (Buffalo, N.Y.) allowing the
Mustangs to improve to 3-1-1 overall (1-0 GNAC). The Eagles dropped to 0-4-1
(0-1 GNAC).
Van Tuyl took the tough luck loss, making eight saves.
The Mustangs finished with an 8-4 shots on goal advantage.
Both teams are back in action Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. DWC travels to Southern
Vermont, while Mount Ida hosts the University of New England.
