Suffolk Shuts Out Eagles, 2-0
(Nashua) – Clayton Plumer (Cranston, R.I.) and Ben Lotterer (Lima, Peru)
notched single tallies 3:26 apart in the first half and Jack DeJesus
(Swampscott, Mass.) made six saves in goal leading Suffolk past host Daniel
Webster, 2-0 in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference men’s soccer contest
Saturday.
The win pushed the Rams above .500 as they improved to 4-3 overall and
evened their record at 2-2 in GNAC play. Daniel Webster moved to 1-7-1
overall (0-3 GNAC) as the tough-luck Eagles have lost their last three
matches by a total of four goals and have dropped six one-goal decisions
this season.
Plumer’s eventual game winner came off a loose rebound at the 37:07 mark,
while Lotterer followed at the 40:33 mark off a Marco Panza (Watertown,
Mass.) cross feed, which be buried from 15 yards out.
Craig Van Tuyl (Buffalo, N.Y.) combined with Fred Jacobs (Wrentham, Mass.)
for six saves in goal for the Eagles, who travel to St. Joseph’s (Maine)
Tuesday for a 4:00 p.m. GNAC matchup.
