Norwich Tops Eagles, 5-0


(Nashua) – Jake Yaris (Raymond, N.H.) and Ryan Boyton (Dunedin, Fla.) notched two goals each and Rob Harlow (West Springfield, Mass.) added a goal and two assists leading Norwich to a 5-0 shutout of host Daniel Webster Saturday in GNAC men’s soccer action.

Boyton registered the first two goals of the match, at the 2:50 mark off a Bobby Begin (Hardwick, Mass.) feed and at 20:36 off a Harlow pass as the Cadets (10-2-1, 5-0-1 GNAC) built a 4-0 lead at the half.

Yaris upped the lead to 3-0 at the 27:05 mark off Harlow’s second assist and Harlow notched his solo score, an unassisted tally, with 4:45 to go in the opening stanza.

Yaris closed out the scoring with this second in the 84th minute.

Brian Riopelle (Methuen. Mass.)combined with Tim Gompf (Frenchtown, N.J.) to make one save, while Craig Van Tuyl (Buffalo, N.Y.) made three saves for the Eagles (1-11-2, 0-6-1 GNAC).

DWC closes out a four game home stand and its regular season home slate hosting Emmanuel Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Norwich hosts Lasell Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.
