Eagles Top Thomas In Season Opener, 3-0
Lewiston, Maine – Newcomer Caitlyn DiPierro (Billerica, Mass.) certainly
made her Daniel Webster debut a memorable one.
DiPierro put forth an all-around effort, dishing out a match high 14
assists, and knocked down five kills and added five serving aces, pacing the
Eagles to a 3-0 sweep of host Thomas College in the 2008 season opener this
afternoon.
Amanda Wilson (Merrimack, N.H.) added six fills and knocked down seven aces
as the Eagles (1-0) made a winner of first year Head Coach Braden Zamore in
his debut behind the bench.
Junior Kristina Rieger, a transfer out of New Hampshire Technical Institute
and a Concord, N.H. native, chipped in with six aces at the line.
The Eagles controlled the tempo throughout, scoring game victories of 25-18,
25-16 and 25-15.
The Eagles are off until next weekend, when they head north to NHTI for a
four-team meeting that includes matched with Hesser, St. Joseph's of
Brooklyn, N.Y. and NHTI.
