Eagles Sweep Lyndon State For Best Start
In Program History
Lyndonville, Vt. – The tandem of senior Jessica Booth (Westminster, Mass.)
and freshman Amanda Wilson (Merrimack, N.H.) notched six kills each while
freshman Caitlyn DiPierro (Billerica, Mass.) dished out 18 assists and
registered five service aces guiding the Daniel Webster College women’s
volleyball team to a 3-0 victory at Lyndon State Tuesday night.
Improving to 7-2 overall, the Eagles are off to their best start in program
history. The victory bettered the squad’s six win total from a season ago
and the Eagles are two wins shy of tying the all time program record for
victories in a season, set in 2005.
Junior Kristina Rieger (Concord, N.H.) added five kills and five aces as the
Eagles took the match with set scores of 25-15, 25-22, and 25-11. The
Hornets dropped to 2-10 overall with the loss.
The Eagles return to action Saturday as they host Becker College and Lesley
University in a New England Collegiate Conference tri-match at Vagge
Gymnasium. The Eagles take on Becker at 10:00 a.m., Becker faces Lesley in
the second match and the Eagles close out the day hosting Lesley at 2:00
p.m.
