Crawford Earns NECC Rookie Of The Week Award
Nashua - Daniel Webster College women’s volleyball player Chelsey Crawford
of Westfield, Mass. (Westfield HS) has been named Rookie of the Week by the
New England Collegiate Conference (NECC).
Crawford, a freshman outside hitter, registered a match-high 14 kills with
just two errors in 22 attempts for a .545 percentage and added three digs
and three blocks guiding the host Eagles past Suffolk University, 3-1 this
past September 17th.
The victory over Suffolk was the only match of the week for the Eagles, who
garnered their first victory of the season in the process.
Through three matches, Crawford leads the Eagles in total kills (30), kills
per game (2.5), hitting percentage (.269), and total blocks (13).
Under the guidance of second year Head Coach Braden Zamore, the Eagles stand
1-2 overall and return to action Tuesday night as they visit Becker College
in a NECC matchup starting at 7:00 p.m.
