Wet Wings For Falcons and Eagles As Albertus Wins, 2-0

(Nashua) – Brittany Collard (North Haven. Conn.) notched an unassisted tally off an indirect free kick and Samantha Gigliotti (Wolcott, Conn.) added an unassisted tally leading Albertus Magnus past host Daniel Webster, 2-0 in a rain-soaked Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup Tuesday.

Nicole Bernier registered four saves for the shutout as the Falcons improved to 2-1 overall (1-1 GNAC).

Becca Jordan (East Granby, Conn.) made five saves as the Eagles dropped to 0-4 (0-2 GNAC).

Neither team was able to gain much control battling through very wet field conditions as the teams went to the half scoreless and managed to combine for just four shots.

Collard put the Falcons on the board four minutes into the second stanza and Gigliotti followed four minutes later. AMC finished with a 7-4 advantage.

The Eagles return to action Saturday as they host Mount Ida in a GNAC contest at 3:00 p.m. Albertus travels to Becker for a 3:00 p.m. contest Wednesday.
