Mount Ida Shuts Out Eagles, 5-0

(Nashua) – Rebecca Tisbert (Cambridge, Conn.) notched two goals and Jamie Hurd (Gloversville, N.Y.) added two assists leading Mount Ida past host Daniel Webster, 5-0 in GNAC women’s soccer Saturday afternoon.

Katie Lorenco (Mattapoisett, Mass.), Brieanna Holiday (Dummerston, Vt.) and Elise McLear (Swansea, Mass.) added single tallies as the Mustangs moved to 3-2 (1-1 GNAC) on the season. Daniel Webster remained winless, dropping to 0-5 (0-2 GNAC).

Meghan Begins (Jericho, Vt.) earned the win in goal, registering two stops, while Becca Jordan (East Granby, Conn.) made 13 saves for the Eagles.

Tisbert put the Mustangs up at the 11:36 mark off a Michelle Alessi feed and McLear converted at the 43:32 mark off a Hurd pass for a 2-0 lead at the break.

Lorenco upped it to 3-0 at the 54:04 mark off an Andrea Wheeler corner kick and Tisbert followed at 64:48 off a Hurd corner.

Holiday closed out the scoring tipping home a loose ball from 10 yards out with 5:46 remaining.

The Mustangs finished with a 14-3 shots on goal advantage.

DWC travels to Emerson Wednesday for a 6:00 p.m. matchup, while Mount Ida travels to Simmons Monday for a 7:00 p.m. meeting.
