Eagles Go Double Overtime Again, But Fall To
Becker 2-1
Nashua – Catherine Millette (Columbia, Conn.) converted a penalty kick with
1:34 remaining in double overtime delivering the Becker College women’s
soccer team a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over host Daniel Webster College
in a NECC matchup Saturday at Eagle Field.
Millette’s gamer gave the Hawks (5-2, 1-0 NECC) their fourth win in their
last five outings, while the Eagles (3-2, 1-1 NECC), playing in their third
straight double overtime game, saw a two-game win streak snapped.
The Hawks forced overtime when Jocelyn Nute (Littleton, N.H.) redirected a
Millette pass with just 1:33 remaining in regulation.
The Eagles had jumped ahead 10:33 into the contest when TC DiSantis
(Hinsdale, Mass.) sent a long corner kick hooking toward the far left corner
of the Becker net that bounced off a Hawk defender and in for an own goal.
Amy Waller (Berlin, Mass.) finished with eight saves for the Eagles, while
Shannon Tibbetts (Warren, Mass.) made foure stops for Becker.
Daniel Webster visits intracity rival Rivier College Monday at 7:00 p.m.
Becker hosts UMass Boston Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
